Flag Football

Flag football is for boys and girls entering kindergarten, 1st, or 2nd grade. Practices begin in August and games are generally held on Sunday mornings at 9:00am. Practices are held during the week and occasionally on Saturday pending coach availability. The season runs into October. Games are played against other town teams with home games located on the Brighton High School turf field.

Flag players need to come dressed in athletic attire and be prepared with a water bottle (labeled with the player's name). Cleats are highly recommended. Mouth guards are required. All flag participants will receive game jerseys that they will get to keep.

Q: Are there age restrictions for Flag football?

A: Flag football is restricted to players entering grades K, 1, and 2.

Q: What equipment is needed?

A: Flag belts, game jersey shirts, and footballs are all provided. Your coach will distribute these before each game. All you need is a mouth guard, black shorts, and any pair of sneakers or cleats will do. (No metal spikes!)

Q. Can I request my son/daughter be on a team with their friends?

A. Yes, If we have enough kids to field two teams, but we may not be able to accommodate all requests.

Q. Can we still register our son/daughter even if we don't live in Brighton?

A. Yes.

Q: Are there any size or weight restrictions?

A: There are no size or weight restrictions for flag football.

Q: Will the kids play in the rain?

A: If it is light rain we will most likely play. However, if it coming down hard we may postpone the practice or game until a later date. You will be notified by BJB or your coach of any changes.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: The registration fee for flag football is $125.
